The Rotork Q range is comprised of Q Standard and Q Pak actuators; a simple and cost-effective way of controlling small quarter-turn valves and dampers. They are robust, dependable and compact part-turn actuators that provide flexibility and reliability. They are designed to meet an industry need for a compact and reliable watertight actuator where an IP68 (NEMA 6) enclosure is required.


Rotork Q Standard actuators are the simplest models in the Q range of products. They are designed for use with external controls and motor switchgear; they are suitable for simple open/close duties where on/off control is required, to suit a wide variety of applications, such as rubber lined butterfly valves in the water industry or dampers for HVAC requirements.


3-phase and single phase option are available (model dependent) in order to meet specific torque characteristics for the wide variety of applications that Q range actuators are suitable for.


At standard Q range:


  • 3 phase; 1 phase motors by high starting output torque
  • 3 pcs embedded thermostats for motor thermal protection inside the enclosure
  • Toque and position switches for remote indication
  • Mechanical position indicator on the top of actuator
  • Optional CPT or potentiometer for continuous position indication


The Q Pak variant includes the addition of a control interface module, including a local control selectors, logic PCB, motor switchgear and transformer. This allows for increased integration of Q Pak actuators with existing site systems.

Phase rotation correction:


Syncrophase is included - it always translate the incoming phase to make rotation in the correct direction by energising the correct contactors.


Integral Controls:


Q-pak are models as ready-to-operate solutions

Only power supply is needed externally to make actuator working (by motorswitch gear + local PCB 

Remote mode by connecting the concerned terminals


Motor switch gear:


By a reversing contactor inside the actuator

Reversing contactor include time delay circuit for avoiding shock loads in case of switches.


Increased functionality:


FOL - analouge control makes possible intermediate positioning (control) and 

CPT - analouge feedback makes possible intermediate position feedback


BUS Control Systems:


By Pakscan FCU that can be connected to the Master station and so that the DCS. Control and feedback about:

  • current position showing
  • alarms feedback
  • diagnostic 
  • remote control and indication is possible
